How to Host & Earn: Complete Setup Guide

Want to turn your gaming PC into a money-making machine? In this guide, we walk you through the complete setup process for the Planet Cloud Host app, from installation to advanced network configuration.

Step 1: Download & Install

  1. Head over to the Host & Earn page.
  2. Download the PlanetHost tool for Windows.
  3. Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts.

Step 2: Run the Application

  1. Once installed, go to your System Tray (bottom right near the clock).
  2. Right-click the PlanetHost icon.
  3. Select Open Start PlanetHost.

Step 3: Account Setup

  1. Click the Settings (Gear) Icon.
  2. Go to the Manage Login tab.
  3. Create your account by entering a Username and Password.
  4. Click Update Credentials.

Step 4: Port Forwarding (Crucial Step)

To ensure users can connect to your PC from outside your home network, you need to open specific ports.

  1. Login to your Router’s admin page.
  2. Find the Port Forwarding section (often under WAN or Security).
  3. Create a new rule:
    • Protocol: Select TCP & UDP.
    • Port Range: 37984-38010.
    • LAN Host: Select your PC’s Physical Address (MAC Address). This ensures the rule works even if your local IP changes.
  4. Save and Apply the settings.

CGNAT Users: If you don’t have a Public IPv4, you can use IPv6. Visit test-ipv6.com to check if you score 10/10. If successful, copy your IPv6 address and paste it into the Server Config tab in the app.

Step 5: Adding Games

  1. Go to the Manage Game tab.
  2. Enter the Official Game Name (e.g., “Cyberpunk 2077”).
  3. Click Find Image to automatically fetch the cover art.
  4. Browse and select the game’s .exe file.
  5. Click Add Game.

💡 Special Tip: Adding Epic Games

For games from the Epic Games Store, the process is slightly different:

  1. Find the game shortcut on your desktop.
  2. Right-click and select Properties.
  3. Copy the Target path and paste it into the EXE Path field in PlanetHost.
  4. Copy the URL (looks like com.epicgames.launcher://...) from the Properties window.
  5. In PlanetHost, add a Space after the EXE path and then Paste the URL.
  6. Click Add Game.

Step 6: Server Configuration

  1. Go to the Server Configuration tab.
  2. Set your Time Limit (this determines how long a user can rent your PC in one session).
  3. Click Save & Apply Config.
  1. Go to the Link Server tab on your PC app.
  2. Open the Planet Cloud Gaming app on your Android phone.
  3. Navigate to Host Dashboard.
  4. Scan the QR Code displayed on your PC.
  5. Click Verify to link your device.

Step 8: Start Earning

  1. Close the Settings window.
  2. Click Start Server on the main dashboard.
  3. Your PC is now online! You can monitor its status from your mobile app.
